The local Democratic Club is hosting their annual 'Party for the Party' event at the Salwan Family home on Friday, January 20, 2012, at 7 p.m., 2118 Harrisburg Avenue, Fremont, CA.

This annual event kicks off another 'democratic' year for our Tri-Cities neighbors, friends, and dedicated party workers. This event is also an opportunity to join and pay your 2012 TCDF Dues, and meet fellow Democrats as we gear up for the election year ahead. The next regularly scheduled General Meeting for the Tri-Cities Democratic Forum will be on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. Our guest speaker this month will be District 2, Alameda County Supervisor, Nadia Lockyer, who will be doing a review of her first year in office. Her topics will include the accomplishments and priorities she has focused on in the first eleven months as our Supervisor.

Please join us at 6:30 p.m. this month to enjoy a no-host Dinner at Chandni’s Restaurant ($15 per person); and to sign-in, meet some new and old friends, and have our usual social networking time. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. at Chandni's Restaurant, 5748 Mowry School Road, Newark, CA.

At its September 2011 General Meeting, the Tri-Cities Democratic Forum paid membership in attendance listened to all invited Newark candidates who were able to appear and held their endorsement voting process per established Bylaws.

Newark is the only local city holding elections in this ‘off’ year cycle, and the following races came up with majority qualifying results by those in attendance:

For the office of Mayor: Ana Apodaca

For the office of City Council: Sucy Collazo

For the Newark School Bond Measure G: Support

We wish all candidates the best of luck in their campaigns.

Tri-Cities Democratic Forum

For Fremont, Union City, and Newark Democrats

At their regular General Meeting on Wednesday evening, 5/18/11, the Tri-Cities Democratic Forum - the local Democratic Club; elected a new Executive Board for the next year.

Both the Chair, Yogi Chugh, and the Treasurer, Raj Salwan, were re-elected to their positions for another term of office; and a couple newcomers will join them.  Mary-Kate Crawford will be the new TCDF Secretary, and Debbie Pearson accepted the position of Vice Chair.  Jan Giovannini-Hill will occupy the newly created Communications Director position for the Club.
